As units of other blood tube, Blood Bank Unit of Hospital Sultan Ismail Johor Bahru also organized a blood donation campaign moves to accommodate the hospital’s blood supply. We welcome any interested parties either individually or in groups to organize a blood donation program together with our party. To ensure that this program can be organized successfully, some important information can be used as a guide. The following important guide for those interested:

  1. Donors have set a budget (minimum 30 people). If less than 30 people, organizers are encouraged to campaign in the Blood Bank Unit HSIJB. It is easier if organizers have a list of the names of donors who wish to donate blood.
  2. Has set the place, date and time for the blood donation program. Must inform the Blood Bank Unit at least 2 weeks before the date of the program. It is recommended that organizers apply early, at least one month before to make sure no other organizers who have chosen the same date.
  3. If there are any cancellations or changes to the program, please inform immediately the Blood Bank Unit.

Apheresis Donation  (plasma and platelets)

There are two types of blood donation, namely:
• Blood Donation
• Donation apheresis (platelet and plasma is obtained from donors)

1. Is the content in the blood? Blood contains several components:

  • Red blood cell
  • White blood cell
  • Platelet
  • PlasmaIf you donate blood, all contained in your blood donation.1. DONATION apheresis? Aferesis is donating one of the blood content of Plasma or platelets or BOTH. While the red blood cells are returned to the donor’s body. It can only be done by using a machine that is very easy and comfortable to use. This donation is made at the Blood Bank Unit ONLY.1.Who is eligible to donate apheresis way?

◾Criteria of the donator

◾A regular donator (the last time donate no more than 6 months)
◾Age between 18 to 50 years
◾Weight exceeding 55 kilograms
◾Healty Condition

2. How is apheresis donation process?

◾You will be invited to lie down in a chair with tilt beside apheresis machine.
◾Needle that drain blood will be inserted in your arm and will be connected to the engine via the conductive channel blood.
◾Blood of the body goes into a machine where it will separate the red blood cells from plasma and platelets.
◾Red cell blood donors will be returned to the donor’s body.

3.How long does it take to donate apheresis way? ◾60 up to 120 minutes

4.Who is requiring blood component that? ◾Plasma required by:

◾Patient who suffered severe bleeding
◾Kidney Patients
◾Liver disease patients
◾Scald burns victims
◾Haemophilia patients


◾Platelet required by:
• Patients suffering from severe bleeding
• Patients with hemorrhagic dengue
• Leukemia patients  and other patients who need it

5. Where is apheresis donation can be done?

◦At Blood Bank Unit of nearby hospitals with apheresis machine
◦At Blood Bank Unit of Hospital Sultan Ismail (please contact us in advance to make an appointment)

 

Hematoma (bruise)

HOW hematoma (bruise) happen?

Bruises on needle pricks a blood donation can be caused by:

• The blood that flows out of the blood vessels and accumulate under the skin caused by the needle pricks or injury.
• Injury to the blood vessel walls due to needle-sticks too deep.
• Injury to the blood vessel wall caused the blood vessels is too smooth.
• Donors do not hold on the needle after needle pricks removed.
• Donors do strenuous activities after donating blood at the pierced hands.

HOW TO ACT AND BLOOD BLOOD VESSEL INJURIES AFTER DEPRECIATION?

• Injury to the blood vessel wall
• The blood vessels shrink in place of injury
• Cells platelets will stick and form clots
• The formation of fibrin clots

WHY GROWING AREA bumps?

Due to the composition of the tissue under the skin of the hollow, the blood will spread among them and the bumps become larger.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PREVENTION BRUISING DONATE?

Done donate blood, you are advised to follow these safety steps:

◦Press firmly on the needle pricks after donating blood
◦Rest your arm and do not do strenuous activity

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF APPLICABLE AFTER BRUISING DONATE

• DO NOT rub or massage the bruised parts (hematoma) within 48 hours
• DO NOT lift heavy things within 2 hours after donation
• PUT bag of ice every 2 hours for a period of 2 to 5 minutes in a bruising

DO bumps AFFECT YOUR HEALTH?

Bruising never affect your health because when the bumps on the wane, the system will return to normal blood clot.
