Emergency and Trauma Department, is located on level 2 of the main buildingg and led by Emergency Specialist serve continuously as the front line to deal with emergency cases of various categories of either traumatic or non-trauma cases which is Critical Cases (Red Tag), Semi-critical (Yellow Tag) and non critical  cases (Green Tag). This department provide emergency medical treatment to its customers.

Emergency Department and Trauma serves as a center that provides professional emergency medical services and recovery with usage of informative and high technology equipments based on the motto ‘Kami Sedia Membantu and Semangat 1 Malaysia.

To provide a fast, accurate and effective emergency and recovery services to improve the quality of healthcare. MOTTO

  1. All patients will be registered in 5 minutes.
  2. Every patient who came for treatment in this department will be given emergency treatment in accordance with the following priority;
    • Critical (Red Zone )
      • Immediate Treatment
    • Semi Critical (Yellow Zone )
      • Treatment within 15 Minutes
    •  Non Critical (Green Zone)
      • Treatment within 60 minutes depending on the current situation.
  1. Each patient is treated with a good, friendly and considerate in a comfortable environment.
  2. Call for ambulance services will be treated in 5 minutes.
  3. Early treatment for cases of emergency ambulance calls will be treated at the scene.

    • Observation Ward (for stabil cases) – To monitor patients who need to seek medical treatment without the need of admissions.
    • The provision of medical coverage team.
    • The provision of ’Code Blue’ team.
  2. Non Clinical Services
    • Management of Human Capital Training.
    • Department’s Personnel Management (ABM).
    • Collection of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and National Indicator Approach (NIA) data.
    • Orientation of new staff and trainees .
    • Notification of infectious cases (if the patient is allowed to return) .
    • Department’s hygiene and safety control.
  3. Acceptance and Death Case Management
    • Medico-Legal Cases for Brought in Death (B.I.D)
    • Cases where the patients died on the way to the Hospital
    • Management of Died in Department cases (D.I.D)
  4. Medical Emergency Coordination Centre. ( MECC )
    • Receive calls from the Emergency Hub in Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru.
    • Attend direct call for Emergency Ambulance Services.
    • Manage ambulance application for to be used in and outside of Johor.
    • Manage ’Post Dispact Call’.

  7. Skill development in skills lab, especially for newly appointed officials.
  8. Mandatory Placement for Houseman and Assistant Medical Officer in Emergency Department and Trauma.
